Day One pt. 1

It’s 11 pm, I left Eugene at 3 am and only made it to the Space Age outside Pendleton, OR.

This was not the plan.

Despite getting inspected and brought into working order specifically for the 3K mile journey, the Sprinter started losing power on the highway. By mid day it was topping out at 40 mph, by the time the check engine light came on it had been capped at 25.

I lucked out though, as far as places to break down go this one is pretty cushy. There’s a parking lot to camp out in, the gas station has showers, laundry facilities, a lounge (that somehow only plays episodes of Rick and Morty), free wifi, a place to charge stuff. Oh, and all the L. Ron Hubbard audiobooks you could ever want. Barf.

They gave me the name of their preferred mechanic. Hopefully it’s something small.

More about today’s adventures tomorrow.
